Economic Development:

Where Service Meets Financial Empowerment

The Economic Development Committee is committed to equipping individuals and families with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to build financial stability and generational wealth. Through innovative programming, the committee educates community members on debt management, budgeting, saving, homeownership, entrepreneurship, and estate planning.

Recognizing that financial empowerment begins early, the committee also provides youth-focused programming centered on entrepreneurship, career exploration, and money-smart goal setting. Additionally, the Money Moves Newsletter provides financial resources and practical guidance for aspiring and small business owners.

A signature initiative is the award-winning Buy Black CAC Campaign.  It encourages support of Black-owned businesses while strengthening local economies. To date it has generated more than $1,500,000 in purchases with Black-owned businesses. Through strategic partnerships and impactful programming, the committee also continues to create opportunities that empower individuals, strengthen families, and promote economic growth throughout the Chicagoland area.
